Charge Curve
A charge curve shows how an EV's charging power changes during a charging session, usually plotted against battery state of charge. It explains more about charging time than the advertised peak power alone.
How to read it
Charging power is often lower when the battery is very cold, very warm, nearly full, or otherwise outside its preferred operating window. Under suitable conditions it may rise to a peak, remain on a plateau, and then taper as state of charge increases. The exact shape is controlled by the vehicle and can change with battery temperature, charger limits, software, and battery protection requirements.
Useful comparisons should cover an equivalent state-of-charge window and similar conditions. A short high peak may add less energy than a lower rate sustained for longer.
