WLTP
WLTP stands for Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure. It is a laboratory procedure used to determine regulated vehicle values including electric energy consumption and electric range.
What the number represents
The vehicle follows defined speed and load patterns on a chassis dynamometer under controlled conditions. The applicable rules specify test preparation, vehicle configuration, road-load settings, temperature, calculations, and reporting. A published WLTP value therefore belongs to a particular approved vehicle version and procedure.
WLTP supports consistent comparison within its regulatory framework, but it does not reproduce every journey. Speed, weather, wind, elevation, payload, tires, cabin heating or cooling, and driving behavior can make real range different.
EPA and WLTP values are not directly interchangeable because their cycles and calculation methods differ. Compare vehicles using the same test regime and the same kind of range value. See WLTP Range Testing for the test phases, reported values, and interpretation.
