Vehicle-to-Load (V2L)
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) lets an EV supply electricity to external devices, usually through a built-in outlet or an approved adapter connected to the charge port.
What it can power
V2L can run equipment such as tools, lighting, computers, or camping appliances within the vehicle's rated voltage, power, and current limits. Those limits vary by market and model, and the vehicle may reserve a minimum battery state of charge before it stops exporting power.
V2L is not the same as vehicle-to-grid or automatic home backup. It normally provides a local AC supply for loads rather than synchronizing with a building or electricity grid. Connecting V2L to household wiring requires equipment and procedures specifically approved for that purpose; a makeshift connection can create electrical and backfeed hazards.
